Lift Gateway LTE for emergency lift phones

Mobile-network lift phone connectivity with managed SIM, monitoring and professional installation. Designed for strata buildings where copper is unreliable or unavailable. Compliance is assessed per building.

Why buildings choose LTE lift gateways

A practical path to keep lift phones working without copper — fast to deploy, easy to manage.

Works without copper

Provides a dedicated voice path over 4G LTE where traditional lines are gone or unreliable.

Managed and monitored

We provision the SIM and monitor service status — issues are flagged early.

Fast deployment

Install in existing buildings with minimal disruption. Typical installs completed quickly after assessment.

Resilience options

Add UPS for backup power and use a corded handset for blackout operation.

Carrier choice

We select Telstra or Optus based on the strongest coverage at your site.

Keep your number

Retain existing lift numbers with number porting support.

How the LTE lift gateway works

A dedicated LTE gateway provides a managed voice path for the lift phone. Simple, robust, purpose-built.

Install

Gateway installed in the lift machine/comms room and connected to the lift phone handset/ATA.

Activate SIM

SIM (Telstra or Optus) is provisioned for the site after a coverage check.

VoIP/voice path

Calls are carried over the 4G network via the managed voice service.

Backup power

Optional UPS keeps the gateway running during short outages; corded phone recommended.

Call path — LTE (4G only)

Lift handset connects to a dedicated LTE gateway. Calls traverse the mobile network to the public phone network (including 000) when powered and in coverage.

Lift Gateway LTE — frequently asked questions

Practical answers for strata committees and building managers. For compliance confirmation specific to your building, book a free assessment.

Is this compliant with Australian lift emergency phone regulations (AS1735/BCA)?

Lift emergency phone compliance depends on the full system design — handset, gateway, power, and monitoring. Our LTE gateway service is designed to support these obligations, but formal compliance must be assessed for your specific building. Learn more: /products/emergency-lift-phone

Will this work in buildings with poor mobile coverage?

We perform a site coverage check and can recommend placement and antennas if required. If stable LTE coverage cannot be achieved, we’ll propose an alternative design. Learn more: /solutions/strata-management-communications

What happens during a power outage?

The gateway requires power. With a suitable UPS and a corded handset, calls can continue for a limited time. Without backup power, the service will not operate during a blackout.

Can we keep our existing lift phone number?

Who monitors the service and who do we call if there’s a fault?

How long does installation take and will there be downtime?
